Big Cities é uma coleção de histórias para a televisão e crossmedia sobre ações inovadoras e transformadoras da vida em grandes metrópoles. A série é fruto de um consórcio entre canais de televisão de todo o mundo, responsáveis tanto pela produção, quanto pela exibição dos documentários. Entre os parceiros brasileiros, o canal TV ESCOLA desenvolveu um episódio no Rio de Janeiro, relatando a experiência de mulheres das comunidades Cantagalo, Pavão e Pavãozinho. Raquel Valadares, trabalhando para a produtora Segunda-Feira Filmes, ocupou-se da pesquisa de case e personagem do episódio “Mulheres Guerreiras”, encontrando as fantásticas mulheres que trabalham a representatividade feminina para fortalecer e empoderar as meninas da comunidade.
Big Cities is a global television and crossmedia collection of stories about innovative ways to improve living conditions in the growing number of worldwide big cities. The TV series is developed by a global Broadcasters’ consortium that took charge of both the production stage and the distribution process of the documentaries. Among Brazilian networks involved, TV ESCOLA has put up a fantastic story about strong women in Cantagalo, Pavão and Pavãozinho communities, right in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. Raquel Valadares, working for the production house Segunda-Feira Filmes, has been the story producer and researcher for the episode “Mulheres Guerreiras” (Women Fighters), finding the amazing women that together fight against social and gender inequalities by empowering girls through art.
